Webb Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) This is a 1/43rd Provence Moulage kit that I re-built last year. It had been sitting in a box fully assembled for about ten years because I never liked the way it turned out. Took it apart, stripped and repainted and replaced the resin wheel discs with turned aluminum that a guy at work made for me. Then when I was ready to apply the original decals which were never used the first time, they disintegrated when they hit the water. I'll just say this is how it looked when it came off the trailer before getting a number. And, oh yeah, it's the D Type that nineteen year old Tom Rutherford drove to almost 185 mph in 1960. Chuck Most Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 It's a Salt Flats racer, and it's a Jag- I have no choice but to love it.
John Goschke Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Beautiful model and really interesting subject! FWIW, I like it better without the racing markings.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 4, 2013 Posted March 4, 2013 Such a beautiful car, fascinating 1:1 subject and fine craftsmanship. Love it.
Paul H Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 That's stunning! Beautiful model and really interesting subject! FWIW, I like it better without the racing markings. Ditto - the shape looks much more pure & sculptural with the moon discs & without all the racing paraphernalia.
