  1. Thanks for the correction Helmut. I must have been having a "senior moment" on the year. I also have the 1970 winning Porsche model, so you would think I would remember that. Oh well. And thanks for the clarification on the side bulge. Someone told me it was for extra fuel, and I never looked into it any further.
  2. Very cool! The chrome is amazing. Super clean build.
  3. Yep, it's an enlarged fuel cell. This car raced the Targa Florio in 1970. And thanks everyone for the kind words!

    427SC Cobra

Really appreciate it guys! One of my favorite kits.

    1968 Firebird 400

Thanks a lot guys! The color is a GM color, but not available on '68 Firebirds.

    1968 Firebird 400

Thanks guys! I almost put America Racing mags on it. Now I'm glad I didn't. I thought Baby Moons might be too "old school".
  7. Wow, just Wow! That is perfect execution of a great idea!
  8. Thanks Larry. I actually got this kit from Koleber many years ago.
  9. Built from a Carrera Models kit. 1/43rd scale. This was the "presentation" model and never raced with this wing configuration. The wing was extended the full width of the car for racing. Not many of the decals were usable since they weren't completely printed on the sheet, as evidenced by the "Abarth" decal on the nose. It's supposed to have Osella decals on the lower sides, but they were missing the "a".
  10. It's 1/43rd scale. And thanks!

    427SC Cobra

    Appreciate it guys!
  12. This was built from a Scale Racing Cars white metal kit. The kit is so old that the decals were useless so I got another set from Tameo. The green on the Tameo decals was way too dark so I ended up brush painting the green with Humbrol enamel. The fit of the body panels is horrible so you're only seeing it assembled from one side! Built right out of the box except for the safety harnesses and I also added a couple of pieces of photoetch sprue for the mirrors.
  13. I know the Baby Moons will be controversial, but I always liked them. Color is Forrest Green metallic. Wheels and tires are from an Opel GT kit. Added Accel super coil, Detail Master distributor and wires, velocity stack with headlight screen and battery cables. I'm still playing with camera settings to get it right. Not there yet!

    427SC Cobra

I haven't posted here in quite a while but I got the "itch" again after seeing a good friend yesterday who's also a modeler. I built this one like a converted street Cobra that the owner added all the "SC" bits to. Some Cobras were upgraded this way after the original purchase. I added aluminum tubing to the exhaust, a Talbot style mirror and fuel filler from Replicas and Miniatures (I think?), Detail Master distributor, wires, cut down velocity stack and fuel lines. Color is Duplicolor Patriot Blue metallic.
  15. Very old 1/43rd scale kit by Starter. This is basically just a test pic to see how they look on the site.
  16. That is just perfect! There's no more to say.
  17. Really nice build. I've always liked that emerald green metallic color.
  18. Really really nice. Everything looks spot on. Love Bonneville racers!
  19. I like the Modelhaus kit, but it does need a little extra attention. Here's one I did. Historic Racing Miniatures makes a full detail kit, but it's just too expensive, IF you can get one! http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=68291&hl=
  20. Thanks guys! Yeah, I guess you can tell I like Cheetahs. It all started with a yellow H.O. slot car back in the sixties. There IS a 1/25th kit from Modelhaus for 60.00 plus 10.00 shipping. In My opinion, well worth the money when you consider the old Cox kits are going for more than 200.00! Chris
