Very good Mark! I love the SRC kits. I built a '67 312 Ferrari. The kits are really crude compared to your Tameos but I still like em. Chris
-
Thanks! Means a lot coming from you. Really like your Super sevens/Caterhams.
-
Thanks David. The blue is Plasticoat dark blue and the yellow is Duplicolor yellow. Nothing fancy!

Geez Bill! Great stuff. I'm either going to have to get a prescription for anti depressants or quit following this build. Everytime I look at your work it really makes me feel unworthy. Partly because I actually went to school to become a machinist back in the seventies so I know what is involved. I'd be happy with just 10% of your talent! I have a new idol!! Chris

This one was built out of the box from a SHMR kit. This was kind of an evolution of the Birdcage type 60/61 but instead of a front mounted four cylinder this car had a mid mounted V-12. I believe it only raced once in the Targa Florio and DNF, but I'm not positive.

Very very nice! I just HAVE to get one of those kits.

Thanks guys, I appreciate it.

Thanks Bill. Really means a lot coming from you. After seeing your FED dragsters, I'm almost too embarassed to post ANY old dragsters!

My favorite Can-Am racer. This is Mark Donohue's car from '66. Built out of the box from a Marsh Models kit.

This is a 1/43rd Provence Moulage kit that I re-built last year. It had been sitting in a box fully assembled for about ten years because I never liked the way it turned out. Took it apart, stripped and repainted and replaced the resin wheel discs with turned aluminum that a guy at work made for me. Then when I was ready to apply the original decals which were never used the first time, they disintegrated when they hit the water. I'll just say this is how it looked when it came off the trailer before getting a number. And, oh yeah, it's the D Type that nineteen year old Tom Rutherford drove to almost 185 mph in 1960.

Thanks Larry. This one actually took first place in staightline competition at the '99 Austin contest that WE were at.
-
Thanks Ray. I think it was my first try using pearl powders. Turned out pretty good.
-
Thanks Alan. You just can't beat a set of Cragar SSs.
-
Thanks Bruce. That's about as much detail as I'll ever put into an engine. I know my limits!

It really amazes me what you can do with plastic sheet!! Just incredible, Kenn. Keep going!

Built this one about ten years ago. Box stock except for wheels and engine details. Paint is Duplicolor black primer with a topcoat of Duplicolor clear with lavender pearl powder. Chris
-
Paint looks PERFECT as always Larry. Do you use primer under the metalizer? Seems like you told me once that you don't have to. Chris
-
Just keeps getting better!

Now THIS is the definition of scratch building! Incredible work Kenn. Can't wait to see the finished product. Chris
-
Really good stuff. I'll be watching this one closely and taking MANY notes!
-
Most realistic engine I've seen in quite a while. You nailed the "look". Keep posting!
-
Looks great! Perfect stance and very nice details. What paint did you use for the blower? It looks like cast aluminum and I've NEVER been able to get that exact look! Nice work John.

Holy cow! All I can do is second everything everyone else has said. Just incredible!
