    '58 Testa Rossa

Thanks Paul. I like to use a little "poetic license" with my paint colors.

    428 Cobra

Thanks everyone! One of my favorite cars too. Just HAD to be a little different! Chris
  4. Brings back memories! Very nicely done.

    Thanks Ben. Thanks again Craig.

    '58 Testa Rossa

Thanks Ron. Actually, this kit went together fairly easy. The fit of the parts was "almost" Tamiya like, unlike the MFH '59 TR I built!

John, I searched the workbench section for your GTO and couldn't find it. What's the topic title?

    '58 Testa Rossa

Thanks John. GTOs would have to be my SECOND favorite Ferrari! I have one in 1/43rd scale and have built and sold two others. Chris
  9. Here's yet another TR. I really like these cars! This one was built from the Model Factory Hiro kit. It's box stock except for a battery cover made of aluminum sheet. I also used yellow plug wires instead of the kit supplied black. I built it as an "ex racer turned street car". Note the PON2N license plate. These cars were known as "pontoon fender" Ferraris. The shape was meant to funnel air to the front brakes. Paint is Duplicolor Harvard Blue with a few clear coats. Chris

    428 Cobra

Built this one from the Monogram 427 street Cobra kit. Filled the cutouts for the side pipes and ran full length exhaust out the back. I had read that as many as half of all the 427 "street" Cobras actually had 428 Police Interceptor engines so I used an intake manifold, heads and exhaust manifolds from a GT500 Mustang and converted it to a 428. The wheels that came with the kit were wires, which NO big block Cobra came with. I doubt that wire wheels could handle the torque put out by a 427/428. I used wheels from a Lamborghini Miura kit just because I thought they looked good. Added seat belts, aluminum tube exhaust tips and a photo etch fan. Chris
  11. This is a 1/24th resin curbside kit by Renaissance. Added safety harnesses and fire extinguisher. This one actually made it into Models Cars Magazine about seven or eight years ago. Chris

    '34 dragster

That was the idea but maybe I should have gone with Alclad aluminum. Do you ever go to any of the contests around Dallas?

    '34 dragster

DUDE!!! Don't quit on MY account! I've built some kits that took me over a year that others have built in a couple of months. Thanks again!

    '34 dragster

This one was built from a Revell snap kit. I was shooting for a mid '60s lower budget dragster and came up with this. The Halibrand wheels are from Resin Works and were painted Duplicolor gold and topcoated with Testors Dull Coat. The body is Duplicolor silver metallic with no clear coat or any polishing so it has just a slight sheen. The interior has aluminum sheet door panels and transmission hump with a shifter for the two speed powerglide. Roll bar is brass rod. Push bar is aluminum tubing. Light blue mylar was used for the windows. The grill filler was made from aluminum sheet. Fuel tank and "foot" pedals are Detail Master. This was one of those "quickie" builds that I'm sure we all enjoy in the middle of all those other more tedious builds with engines, transmissions, and chassis to detail! Chris
  16. Thanks all. If I had to pick a favorite car it would be a '57 to '60 Testa Rossa. I also built one of the '58 pontoon fendered cars by MFH and if I can find the pics I'll post them. Thanks again, CW
  17. This one was built from a Model Factory Hiro resin and metal kit. I built it right out of the box except for the addition of interior door frames and hinges and a piece of screen over the vent in the engine compartment. CW
  18. Built this one from a Jimmy Flintstone body I got off eBay. Front axle, wheels and tires from the "spares" box. Steering linkage and radius rods were scratch built with aluminum and brass tubing and sheet aluminum. Push bar is from the Miss Deal Studebaker minus the "foot" which was replaced with a piece of aluminum tubing. Eight exhaust pipes were also made with aluminum tubing. Wheel discs are from Parts by Parks. Paint is Duplicolor Gun Metal. Chris
  19. That looks GREAT Bob! Makes me want to start work on my '53 Stude Sedan Delivery. I might "borrow" your paint scheme. Nice combination. Chris
  20. Very clean! Good color choice. I always liked the older Jags. I may have to get one of those kits. Chris

    1/43 Talbot Lago

Wow Mike! Thanks a lot. You're making me blush!
  22. Simply perfect! Outstanding bare metal foil application. Don't know if I've ever seen better. Like the color too. Chris

    1/43 Talbot Lago

Holy cow, THAT is unbelievable! Makes me feel like I should find another hobby. There's also a 1/8th scale scratch built Cheetah on that site that I would give my left one for! Chris
