cobraman Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) This will be my next build. Not much to look at I guess but there is just something about it that looks cool to me. This should be a quick build as it is a pretty simple kit. At some point there must have been a electric motor in some version of this kit. Parts, what there is of them are nice and clean. It is a curbside kit so no engine. The wheels seem a little undersized to me but once built they may be ok. Feel free to laugh ! : ) Edited March 28, 2013 by cobraman
cobraman Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 I want that kit! About 27 bucks shipping included from Tokyo Hobby.
Erik Smith Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I think it's a cool car and would probably be a blast to drive! Pretty sure it was once motorized - at least the stock City had that option "back in the day".
Randy D Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Hi Ray, Man , I cann't keep up with all your builds !! This one looks like a cool little car Randy
cobraman Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 Thanks. When I retire in about 3 months I think I will spend more time on quality then quanity. : )
Johan020 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 I had one 1:1 (non turbo) the little honda was rusty and crusty as hell ;-( but did drive great
Shelby 427 1965 Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 Got the road car version of this kit, love this little car, insanely quick.
scalemodelworld Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 About 27 bucks shipping included from Tokyo Hobby. Maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I can't find any plastic car kits on their website. ".com" seems to be all diecast and ".net" seems to be all figurines.
cobraman Posted March 25, 2013 Author Posted March 25, 2013 They have a bunch listed on ebay. I just went into the store from one of their listings.
crazyrichard Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 that kit is just awsome :) looks like great fun well reminds me of my rendering , i used to do cars chopping / rendering and wa very active in that community .. but sadly modelcarbuilding and rendering cant be combined , just dont have the time to do both.. but alright i did a city ounce and tried to combine styles a bit > 80% is drawn with no use of donors > the picture i used >http://maydaygarage.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/autowpruhondacityturboi.jpg the result maybe you can use it for inspiration
crazyrichard Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 thnx well i made so many renderings like this pfftt but like said quit that passion for modelbuilding is the kit you bought really that wide ?? curious on the content
cobraman Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 Ya, for a small car this thing is pretty wide. I will try and get some parts photos up on Thursday.
Ace-Garageguy Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Seriously cool little cars....enraged rollerskates. Needs a V6 sitting sideways in the back seat, sorta like the Ford Festiva Shogun.
Zarana-X Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Tiny cars. They never sold them in the US, but I did get to see one in person, Its about the same size as the old Ford Festivas.
cobraman Posted March 27, 2013 Author Posted March 27, 2013 Seriously cool little cars....enraged rollerskates. Needs a V6 sitting sideways in the back seat, sorta like the Ford Festiva Shogun. That would be cool . Doesn't Jay Leno have one of those Festiva's ?
cobraman Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Got a little done on this wip. Body was painted using metalliac black. Center of wheels were tinted gold. Wheels still look too small to me but we will see when finished. Interior side panels still need another coat of paint and body has not been cleared yet.
crazyrichard Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 its not as wide as on the boxart but thats a good thing ! and the wheel size .. i think lowering it a bit will solve that problem ?
cobraman Posted March 31, 2013 Author Posted March 31, 2013 This little bugger is done. Photos will be in the "Under Glass" section soon if interested.
