Pullin Gears Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 I have had this kit for a while. It was the one that was molded in metallic blue. It was in rough shape and missing most of its parts so I turned it into a barn/field find. I made all the glass from clear plastic, used tape to "weather" the Super Bee stripe, and added some dents, rust, and primered panels A couple tires and some body work and she would be good as new! The owner is even ready to sell it! Ouch, rust in the pillars isn't looking too good
Mopar Mike Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Looks great. I think most of it will buff out, and with some soap and water it'll look like it just came off the showroon floor. Mike Mopar To Ya
Ron Hamilton Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 What junk yard do you hang out at????? Your work is incredible!!!!
TooOld Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Now that looks very realistic , not overdone like most I 've seen . In fact I saw one just like it last weekend at a local salvage yard ! Excellent job !
Dan Helferich Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Nice job Kevin, it makes me want to cry! Are you the same Kevin Kovach who used to compete in the model contests at Riders Hobby Shop in Madison Heights, MI? If you are I'm sorry I never got to meet you. I worked there part time from '93 to '01 and I remember some of your builds. They always had that "gotcha" factor where you had to go back and keep looking at them.
Pullin Gears Posted March 28, 2013 Author Posted March 28, 2013 Thanks everyone! Dan, I'm a different Kevin Kovach, I'm from Maryland and I was born In '93. I do remember seeing a scale auto contest issue with another guy named Kevin Kovach though, a clean build too.
Dan Helferich Posted March 28, 2013 Posted March 28, 2013 Well, you got my attention with your B so I had to ask. With the right surroundings it could pass for real.
Guest Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 Very nice weathering, just one thing, you forgot to weather the wheels.
