Thank you ! The body was done like this: Four coats enamel red primer. One coat enamel light blue Slowly wet sand (3200 grit) exposing some of the primer in key areas. Be careful it is easy to sand through the primer. Dust the exposed primer areas with rust colored powder. Can use chalk, I use Bragdon weathering powders. The camera does not pick up the rust powders. It looks better in person. The underside frame rusted as follows: Enamel Ruddy brown (Red) Primer Enamel Rust color. Brush on bottle paint add dirt/dust while wet. Dirt/dust VERY important Enamel Brown or rubber colored wash, even gray works in some spots Acrylic Thin black wash Acrylic Thin Pure Pumpkin color wash, maybe some light orange in different places Acrylic Tiny bit, dry brush light orange The key to this rust process is the dust and fine dirt. . . . The headers and collectors where scratch built out of plastic. I painted the collectors enamel rust color. Then white acrylic. Then I used acrylic crackel paint. The crackel paint is clear and causes the acrylic white to crack all over. Which exposes the rust color. Then I added a tiny bit of orange acrylic wash in places. . . . I'm with Bill, makes me want to swat the dust off my jeans. Nice little "where's Waldo" trip; flipping through the photos looking for cool details. The weathering on the paint job is great.
