I'm posting this, to give hope to all the guys and gals here, who are looking for something specific, which always seems to slip away, due to too being to late or too darn expensive....

Almost ten years ago, I won an auction on a original Mpc 4x4 Ford Van, but when I got it, it was a mix of two kits, all except the chassis was Mpc Van, the rolling chassis was Amt Ford pickup.

The purchase wasn't a total loss, due to having a Amt pickup, with a glue bomb chassis, but I really wanted a complete van.

Now fast forward to the present times, a week or two ago, on ebay I found an Mpc van with a body which seemed twisted beyond repair, I asked the seller if the kit contained a complete rolling chassis, he said yes.

I waited for the last seconds of the auction to put in my bid, which was under $10, and to my surprise won the auction.

Picked up my parts kit at the PO last Saturday, so now have a complete MPC 4X4 Van, and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg (I'm sure you all have seen that expensive parts-seller on ebay ;^)

That's a kit that I was wanting badly myself. Like you, it seemed I never could score one at a decent price on ebay or at model shows. Then, several months ago when I was at my local hobby shop which also specializes in older out of production kits, I came across the "Stunt Van" you just got still sealed. I pulled it out and quickly looked for the price. It was only $40! Needless to say, it came home with me! I would have rather had the "Off Road" van because it was the kit I had when I was a kid. But, at least I now have one! Now, if I can just score an early sixties Ford pickup.

I am glad it worked out for you. That guy who sells parts on ebay is way to high. Guys in a pinch is keeping him selling...

Luc I'm happy to see you got the parts you need. Now let's see a build :)

The old van kits are pretty cool and I notice more interest in them in the past year or two. There have been some recent van kit reissues and I'm hoping the sales results are such that Round 2 will dig out the rest of their van tools and reissue the kits. It would be great if they retooled the grill of the Dodge van to an actual version, and reissued it as well. Since prior to the bad ambulance version, they did the last high end grill (4 square headlights), it would be neat if they tooled the last low end grill (2 round headlights). Then we'd have a new version to boot!

And that's why we are doing a van sub-theme at NNL East this year! It's been pretty well received... just wait until you see the themes for 2014!

Tom, I'm working on the Van already, dunno what happened, I just digged into it :)

'bout the Dodge Van's, the tool in the state it's in now, is worthless, dead capital, so I'm hopeful that somewhere don the line they will rework it, not that I need one, got a whole slew of those kits, beginning with both the Window versions and ending with the Wanted edition..

Shirley with AMT repopping Chevy & Ford vans a Dodge must be next?

We can only hope.

It would be nice though if it was the twin engined Krazy Van...
