I had a friend help with taking better pictures. Added those below. This started life as a Jada 2006 Corvette Z06 kit. Color is Dupli Color laser blue pearl with metallic black for the roof and about 8 coats of clear (DC and Testors One Coat). Rubbed on with Scratch X 2.0. Will need to take some photos outside in order to make the color really pop. Was having a hard time taking pictures indoors tonight so I tried a couple different locations and different back-drops.

This thing looks like a nasty little street machine...I really like those deep dish wheels in black. I'm no photographer by any means, but I have a few tips for you. The lighter backdrop is definitely better for that color car, I have seen black or dark backdrops work, but it is a tricky thing to make work. Also you want your light source to be behind you, not directly over you either. What that does is get rid of the shadows around the bottom of the car. Experiment like your doing, I even made a cheap backdrop holder so I can switch the color of paper easy.

Mike, your Corvette came out great, I really like all the scratch building you did in the interior. Squeezing that procharger in the engine compartment was also pretty amazing ,it looks great in the finished pics.

If you want to light up an indoor shoot you need to build a mini studio. It isnt hard... I used a cardboard box with windows cut into 3 sides (top, left and right) then covered them in very thin white tissue paper. Add 2 or 3 cheap spot lights so they are mounted on the outside, then take a big sheet of white or very light grey paper and lay it down for a "floor" and curve it up on the back wall going all the way to the top. This eliminates any corners and helps the lighting. The white tissue paper will diffuse the light and you will get a perfectly lit studio shot, this is the same way pros do it in the big car photography studios. Hope this helps. Bill

Thanks fella's. Fred the procharger was scratchbuilt from styrene by me and cast in resin. Bill, I sure would like to see your photo setup. Email me at scaleturbo@yahoo.com thanks!

The model looks great. When you are photographing dark colors like that try placing sheets of white paper facing the model out of view of the camera lens. They will reflect back into the paint and illuminate the dark areas of the car.

That is simply a gorgeous build. That paint is incredible, you gotta watch your step or you could fall into it ;)

Keep up the great work.
