gtx6970
Any one know if the decals to do this car are avail ? I have this one on the short list as it looks like a pretty straightforward conversion with a Johan AMX body on a Borsch altered chassis /engine / running gear

RAT-T
BILL, I THINK I REMEMBER SEEING THIS ON SLIXX WEBSITE, BUT I THINK IT WAS A MULTI USE DECAL ADVERTISED FOR THE OTHER CAR ON THE SHEET, I JUST CAN'T REMEMBER WHICH CAR IT WAS. MAYBE GIVE THEM A CALL OR EMAIL?

RAT-T
BILL, WHO MAKES THE BODY FOR THIS?
gtx6970
BILL, WHO MAKES THE BODY FOR THIS? I am just going to use a Johan 1969 AMX body from a Shirley Shahan kit. I've already done a test fit on a Willie Borsch chassis and it's a near perfect fit. The actual car was nothing but an altered under the AMX body Here is an article I found http://home.fuse.net/jallphin/cool-pictures/AMX1UP.jpg Edited April 12, 2013 by gtx6970
gtx6970
Its' my understanding this is the same car , just later in life under different ownership. But to be honest I am not 100% sure of this. There seems to be very little info on the car , other than it was handful to drive and went thru dozens of hired guns to drive the thing ( somewhat typical for an altered) Edited April 12, 2013 by gtx6970

DrKerry
I don't think the green body is the same. Looking at the inner tins are different, and the blue one doesn't have a back window in it. Not sure if they are or not.
Alan
Different chassis as well
doggie427
The green AMX is a completely different car. Ron Ellis was a midwest gas altered guy that later ran a Vega S.D. in BB/FC Edited April 13, 2013 by doggie427
doggie427
The green car is the Ron Ellis BB/A (later run as a UDRA gas and alcohol funnycar) from Mich. This car originally had a 'T' body and was the NHRA record holder in AA/A(called the TRICK T) around 1968-69. Completely different cars. zenrat
I built this as one of my first major kit bashes when I got back into the hobby about 10 years ago. I used the AMT Bantam Blast and the Model Master pro street AMX.
