cobraman Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 Finally wrapped this thing up today. Lindberg L 700 tilt cab. Went together pretty well but as we all know the door hinges can be a pain. I managed not to break them but the doors do not fit all that well. I think I could file off the topr of the door frames to get the doors to close better but that will be another day. The instructions in the kit are also not the best. Here is what was done. Body was smoothed a bit. Added on the roof spoiler. I filled the wiper holes. Used Duplicolor yellow paint. The tires and wheels are from a GMP 1/18 scale die cast. The suspension was lowered. Rear bumper with lights was made. The bed is made with balsa wood only because I could not locate any basswood. I hate balsa wood. thats about it. Comments both good or bad are always welcome.
slusher Posted April 19, 2013 Posted April 19, 2013 That is really sharp Ray, a custom flatbed. Very nice touch on the wheels, bed, and color. l have never seen one customized...
Sixties Sam Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 Definitely a cool truck! Great wheels and color. The balsa bed looks good! Sam
TooOld Posted April 20, 2013 Posted April 20, 2013 That looks great Ray ! The color is a little off for my tastes but it still looks good . I also think the bed came out just fine . I have one to build and like the idea of doing a custom .
