jparsons1969 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 This model had several fitting issues, but I think it turned out ok. The kit came molded in blue metallic and all I did was put a few coats of clear over the body. Since this is an old kit, the decals had yellowed, and the smaller ones disintegrated in my hands. My phone camera, lighting, and picture taking abilities don't really show it, but the finish actually turned out pretty decent. This is my last build until winter time, I've got too much to do outside. I'm sure you guys probably don't have alot of time to build models either this time of year. Thanks for looking.
JasonC Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 John Parsons? I know a John Parsons from Keyser, WV lol. But anyways, your build looks clean.
Shelby 427 1965 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Looks really good, I wouldn't have expected the bare plastic just clear coated to look that well!
Sean W Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Good job John. In the long ago past I built this kit also, now long gone. Keep up the good work.
freakshow12 Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 I am building the same kit right now. What fit issues did you have?
crazyjim Posted April 26, 2013 Posted April 26, 2013 Parts of it look SHINY :) while other parts don't. What's with that?
W-Machine Posted April 27, 2013 Posted April 27, 2013 NIce work. looks really good just cleared... I concur.
jparsons1969 Posted April 27, 2013 Author Posted April 27, 2013 Thanks guys for the kind words. The fitting issues were when you put the body on the chasis the fan will not line up with the shroud. The driveshaft was difficult to set between the transmission and differential. The hood won't fit over the air breather. Crazyjim, the hood is flat black with no clear coat.
