LOBBS
I did a quick Google search and found a few places selling the LS9 as a crate motor. I know the ZR59 SEMA Vette that is inspiration for my own '59 Vette used one. The Stielow Camaros use the LS9 upper on the LS7 427 block. exesivefire
The ls9 is available as a crate motor, as far as I'm concerned that is a viable option for what we are doing. If someone is ponying up the coin for a crate motor like that, the only reason not to get a ls9 is cost. Most lsa conversions will probably come from wrecked cars out in the 1:1 world A magnason supercharger is a pretty common blower too, in fact probably more popular than a ls9 or lsa. Most would probably go ls3 and a Maggie really. Edited June 23, 2013 by exesivefire
LOBBS
Basically what I'm seeing is necessary to do an LS9 crate motor in scale is to raid the ZR1 kit for the manifold pieces, front cover and belt/pulley assemblies. As soon as Manny let's me know the six-speed automatic 6L80 version is good to go, I'll post it here as well. LOBBS
The LS7 crate motor and the pair of six-speed trannys (T-56 manual and 6L80 auto) are now available. A supercharged LS9 is also a go once I get the parts to Manny. Edited July 12, 2013 by LOBBS

LOBBS
Its been a rough couple of weeks at work. Hopefully, I'll be able to slip out this weekend and pick up a ZR1 donor kit. I'll get the parts off to Manny shortly after that.

Jim Whalen
Hi, I'm really interested in these - will be good for serveral projects! I've got a 2010 Camaro that I've back-halved and got all the clean-up work done for and was about to kit-bash engines until I read about this offering. Will be very interested in a supercharged one for this project! I didn't know about this particular aftermarket supplier and have had at look at their website - looks like a lot of good stuff - thanks for the heads up! Terryk2003
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but can this engine be built without the beauty covers to just show the valve covers and coil packs?
Chris White
Not sure if this was mentioned before, but can this engine be built without the beauty covers to just show the valve covers and coil packs? Absolutely, I spent so much time painting the coil packs, I felt bad putting on the covers....
Terryk2003
Awesome! Thanks for the heads up! I was researching the COPO Camaros and this engine was one of the three engine options! I will be buying one for my COPO build!
BKcustoms
I'd be willing to send these valve covers I've been working on to Manny to add to the LS7/LS9 kits if anyone is interested. Here's what they will look like when I finish them.
