Lownslow Posted May 30, 2013 Posted May 30, 2013 (edited) Its my gift to my dad for fathers day he loves stangs, The build is a take on this i drew some wheels resembling the hot-wheels wheels and keeping the HW tradition i made them staggered in size so theyre 18/20 They were designed for revell tires but revell tires ended turning it into a monster truck with the craptastic sidewalls so i switched to some aoshima tires now it looks a lot more presentable im gonna go with the HW color scheme with a matching interior. heres how it looked on the Revell Avis Rent a car tires. epi4561 Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Umm... I'm not sure what's going on here. But as far as the build goes, it looks like a very cool idea you have going here. I look forward to seeing this one progress. My 9yr old son loves Mustangs.
epi4561 Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Looking at those wheels again, they are really nice. If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get them "printed"? Do you have your own printer? and how much time did you invest in the design? (ie. proper dimensions etc..) Sorry for the overload of questions..

Sorry for the overload of questions.. 19$ before shipping, i tend to order 50$ worth of parts to offset the shipping cost., Not yet have been eyeballing SL printers for a while but its a bit out of my range now since i had to replace my 1:1. 30-45 minutes give or take i try to make them as close to the 1:1 but keeping what the printer can and cant do in mind to prevent part rejection.

If you don't mind me asking what CAD setup are you using to design the wheels? This is something that I could definitely get into given the lack of aftermarket companies doing pro-touring style wheels at the moment.

Lownslow Posted June 9, 2013 Author Posted June 9, 2013 here it is on the stock wheels was trying to find a substitute tire to cast instead of using the super crappy revell tires, im doing the center stripe in gun metal it needs some metallic
Lownslow Posted June 10, 2013 Author Posted June 10, 2013 (edited) Added the last stripe, gunmetal like the wheels. Edited June 10, 2013 by Lownslow
