17jamato Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Just finished the 8 th grade today! Cant wait for high school!
W-Machine Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 I remember the 8th grade. It was the best three years of my life. Just kidding. Congrats on finishing for the school year, and if I may offer a little friendly advice, work hard and get good grades in high school. I guarantee that it will make your adult life easier.
Deano Posted June 6, 2013 Posted June 6, 2013 Congratulations, Joe! My son just finished 8th grade, also. It's a milestone; unfortunately it's long enough ago that I don't really remember it very well. As was said earlier, study hard, get good grades; it WILL pay off.

Congrats on finishing for the school year, and if I may offer a little friendly advice, work hard and get good grades in high school. I guarantee that it will make your adult life easier. Absolutely. Enjoy high school it will be the best part of your life. my dad told me that and he was right. Absolutely on that, too. Listen to an old grouch that taught high school for almost a decade, Joe. High school can be A LOT of fun. And you'll treasure those memories for years to come. Too many people think college will be the highlight of your life. College can be fun, but there's something different about high school that makes it all that much more enjoyable. Perhaps it's the emphasis on the joy of life and the forming of lifelong friendships. Despite all the changes in education- most of which have been very bad, that's one thing that they can't take out of high school no matter how much they try. Nor should they. And if you find your principals or teachers acting in a way that crushes either the spirit, intellect or both, grab your friends and rally around. High school is also a great opportunity to learn to stand up for yourself. And others. Don't waste it. Treasure every second- good or bad, for the training for adult life that freshman through senior year will bring. Charlie Larkin

Guest Johnny Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 After you are into the Freshman year you will wish you were back in 8th grade. When you are in your first year of college you will wish you were back in HS. When you are in the first year of your job you will wish you were back in college. When you are at the end of your first year of retirement you will wish you were back in grade school again! Congratulations! Enjoy your summer vacation and good luck in HS next fall!

What are you talking about Johnny, I'm not even half way to retirement and I wish I was back in grade school! I miss the simple life when the worst thing I had to worry about was a pop quiz! Enjoy this time of your life while you can Joe, because way too soon you will have to enter the real world, and some times it can be a nasty world to live in! I wish you luck in high school and enjoy!
