17jamato Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 If i were to spray model master enamel paint with my airbrush inside, would I absolutey have to set a a small airbrush spray booth to control fumes?
Jantrix Posted June 9, 2013 Posted June 9, 2013 You need some sort of ventilation. Spraying indoors without a vented spray booth is never a good idea. Beyond the fumes you have overspray to worry about. A bathroom exhaust fan is NOT adequate ventilation.

Skip Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 That's what I have and love it! The spray booth I have is a Paasche , works great for model work as well as some of the sign work that I do. Another good booth to look at is the Pace Spray Booth. Both are sheet metal construction. Some of the guys on here have built their own, just make certain the fan motor is explosion proof with sealed brushes.
ScaleDale Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 I think the key word in his statement is "portable". If you can pick it up and move it around then it's not vented to the outside and that's what's important in a spray booth used indoors. The ones I've seen hook up to exhaust vents that run to the outside like a dryer does. That moves the paint fumes out of the house. Mine is home made and used in the garage. It's not vented to the outside itself, but does have fans and a filter. I have a high velocity fan in the garage window and I run it to clear the fumes out of the work area.Dale
