progplastic Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 (edited) Just thought I'de try my hand at building a what if model. To the best of my knowledge no 1:1 funnycar was ever made from a 1969 Malibu or Chevelle ( as far as google knows ).. I shortened the chassis on the Monogram Cop-Out Duster funny, I used the 454ci from the Revell '70 Chevelle and the body from the Amt '69 Chevelle... ..now that I look at it, I wish I had added some ground effects and a front chin spoiler..oh well, maybe someday. AZ Boy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Nice build, Jim. The Malibu would've been a great looking body for that era of funnycars. It's too bad that no one tried it.
progplastic Posted June 19, 2013 Author Posted June 19, 2013 Thanks for all the positive comments guys..
Mister Twister Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 The Chevelle is a novel idea....Very clean looking build.
progplastic Posted June 23, 2013 Author Posted June 23, 2013 Thanks for all the positive responces.. I think if I build another one I'll use the '69 Camaro funnycar chassis.I'm not real impressed with the Cop-out funnycar
Metaldrumm Posted November 17, 2016 Posted November 17, 2016 Looks like it sits a little high, but still nice build
dragcarz Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I love it..... great imagination and execution!
DumpyDan Posted November 18, 2016 Posted November 18, 2016 I think this looks great, and ya they should have tried it.
vintagedragcrazy Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Wow Jim I really like your Chevelle buddy!vince
carman1 Posted November 19, 2016 Posted November 19, 2016 Very nice, interesting build, I cant believe that no one made a funny car of a 69 Chevelle, I know they did them of a 68 and 69 GTOs, never really looked before !
