That can also be said for how many modelers there are out there that don't belong to a club. Looking at the NNL East mailing list, an extremely small percentage of these guys do! Some folks just aren't joiners, just as some don't feel comfortable enough on the Internet to participate on the boards.

People don't belong to model forums (any of them, not just picking on here), model clubs and to some extent participate in contests for the same reason. Raging junior-high level egos and behavior.

I've enjoyed building model cars for more than 50 years. I don't post photos, very rarely post comments, but I sure do enjoy reading and perusing the topics. The talent here is simply incredible! Thanks so much for this forum!

You cannot generalize, some will have those reasons but not all of them think this way....

To me, this has nothing to do with egos and childish behavior. Like many hobbies, a lot of people like me see it as a somewhat solitary, artistic endeavor. But I enjoy being here and learning and exchanging points of view. I have zero interest in contests or clubs. This site satisfies my need for interaction on the subject.
