Last Saturday, I picked up another "rebuilder" at our model club meeting, a MPC 1968 Chevrolet SS427 Hardtop.

It is painted with hobby enamels, and should not be too difficut to strip.

It came apart easily, and I should have it stripped in a few days.

It is missing the engine, wheels, tires, axles, the exhaust system, a tail light, and the rear roll pan. I have most everything to get this one going. I plan to build it as a Replica Stock. I have not decided on the color combination.

please restore her

That is definitely the plan. Before I acquired this one, I was going to turn an AMT '67 into a '68.

Now what I plan to do are both of them. he MPC original will be built close to what the parts in the box would yield as a "replica stock", and the "home made" one will be further detailed into a "street machine", with aftermarket parts.

Another nice project, Ron.

I like Madeira Maroon with either a black or whatever they offered for a saddle/bucksin/tan/fawn/gold interior that year. That color just looks good on the big Chevies or that period.

A favorite combination of mine, regardless of car, because it looks good on almost all of them, is black with a red interior, too.

Looking forward to the resto,i've got a bunch of old original issue kits and rebuilds like this that i couldn't restore because i couldn't by the factory paint here until recently a hobby store in canada is carrying scalefinishes paint so can't wait to dig in!

You can turn an original annual AMT '67 Impala into a '68 because the body width is about the same as a MPC '68 Impala, of which you can by the '68 bumpers from Modelhaus. Unfortunately, the ERTL AMT '67 Impala body doesn't fit the '68 MPC Impala bumpers.

Nice find '68 Impala, have fun with it.
