vintagedragfan Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 nice build, wish I had a real one in the garage!
Ramfins59 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Great looking model Michael. Good job as usual.
TooOld Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Great looking Hemi Dart ! Like it just came off the truck ! And the trunk looks just fine .
JasonC Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 I got a question about the color of the engine compartment on these. These cars where originally primer with black fenders and hood cause they where glass . So under the hood, would they of been left in primer when Hurst put the Hemi in? Or did Chrysler paint under there black before shipping them out? Or did Hurst paint it black before the Hemi was dropped in?
gtx6970 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 As far as I know, All hemi A bodies were black underhood, Not 100% positive but I think Hurst painted them . Reason being Hurst had to modify the pass side shock tower to make the engine fit
ChevyCoupe41 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Very Nice Dart! Like all of those details and that out of factory look. Nice Job!
The70judgeman Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Looks great! Same idea I had...whenever I build it.
MikeyB08 Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Killer Dart!! I may have to imitate this. Looks awesome!!!
TFchronos Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Sweet dart, the trunk looks just fine to me, great build!
Harry P. Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 Sweet dart, the trunk looks just fine to me, great build! He missed the spare tire well.
JasonC Posted August 7, 2013 Posted August 7, 2013 (edited) He missed the spare tire well. He cut the trunk lid in the wrong place and left the back part of it attached to the body... Edited August 7, 2013 by JasonC
slusher Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 a very sharp build. l like how you did the trunk...
MichaelJ Posted August 8, 2013 Author Posted August 8, 2013 (edited) I like the trunk too- and as I said, this is my version...At least I got the pull strap's for the window's right.BWAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!! I do'nt belieive this version even came with a spare tire,,just the floor cover. Edited August 8, 2013 by MichaelJ
PappyD340 Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Well, maters/tomatoes who cares you did an excellent job Michael, I like it!!
JasonC Posted August 8, 2013 Posted August 8, 2013 Well he did say all comments are welcome. From what I see of the pictures, he pretty much built a 1:1 replica of the LO23 Dart. With also saying "Like it came off the truck". So once reading that, one would expect to see a car that looks fully like one would in 68. It was very well done, till I seen the trunk lid and how it opened. So I just pointed it out. Maybe the guy never seen a Dart trunk open? And from others comments, I guess they haven't either. So I guess I just didn't expect to see a customized trunk lid on a otherwise period correct car
