1972coronet Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 After all of this time (nearly twenty years !) , I can't believe that none of the fledgling resin casters have produced a 1967 - 1969 Dart convertible . The master would require more work than merely lopping the top off of one of the Revell '68-'69 Dart Hardtop kits , as the bodystyles were different ; the convertible was 'based' off of the pillared coupe ("21" body style) , whereas the Revell kits are hardtops ("23" body style) . The 'pillared coupe' had a more upright backlight and "C" pillars . Nothing that's glaringly obvious to the casual observer , but is apparent to fans of the Dart .
RAT-T Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 (edited) THERE'S A SELLER ON EBAY THAT SELLS A 2DR SEDAN, WOULD THAT WORK? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-DODGE-DART-2-DOOR-SEDAN-RESIN-CAST-MODEL-/370874392239?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item5659d61eaf Edited August 15, 2013 by RAT-T
dimaxion Posted August 15, 2013 Posted August 15, 2013 Hmmm .. I bought Resins in the Mid-'80's ? A converteble would be neet for a Dart Model . Thanx ..
biscayne63 Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 If they do a convertible hope they would use the mpc Saddleback Dodge body, move the front wheel wells back to stock. The revell body has issues like door cutlines, just doesn't have the finesse of the mpc body.

Y'know , that would be a good start ! Thanks for the link
realgone58 Posted August 18, 2013 Posted August 18, 2013 I've got one of those 2 door post resin bodies from the 'Bay. Have to say, it's really decent too, and very reasonable.
gtx6970 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I'm going to bet the resin 2 door sedan has nothing but an altered rear roof line. On Sedans and convertibles the windshield stand up straighter than the 2 door hardtop. In 1/25th scale I have serious doubts they can be told apart
MAGNUM4342 Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 Start with plastic as a base and keep it as much plastic as is possible. If you try to start with a resin transkit, you're only asking for a whole new world of troubles.
