bisc63 Posted September 21, 2013 Posted September 21, 2013 Also, I'd like to see this body offered as a body-only, to keep cost down, and because I'd like to build a "what-if " production variant! Well done KB!
kennb Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 That can easily be done.................................. It would be a good base for that,,,,,,,the donor car would be a corvette with a chassis stretched 3/4" ????????? Is this a typo - 28 Chevy ??????????? yes it is typo........58 chevy ...sorry
kennb Posted September 21, 2013 Author Posted September 21, 2013 PM me, I have a 58 seat for you. sent
kennb Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 (edited) Part of the interior is done and the chassis is ready......There will be a 55 Corvette required for a donor car to complete the suspension (bolt in) The motor will also be derived from this kit. There is simulated carpet pattern on thee floor of the interior. This was accomplished by stippling glazing spot putty with a dryer sheet and a stiff brush. Included in the resin castings will be the chassis, body, and complete interior less the steering wheel, also from the 55 corvette kit. additional photos are on flicker(My photo-bucket has been exceeded in 4 accounts) I am having a hard time uploading decent photos from my computer. Please click the link for full size detailed photos. Sorry for the inconvenience. http://www.flickr.com/photos/22767382@N08/ Edited September 22, 2013 by kennb
David G. Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Awesome! I can't wait to see more. David G.
MeatMan Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 I like the build. I don't understand why someone would question you on whether it was real or not, doesn't really matter. Keep pushing dude. Good luck on the parts.
kennb Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 here is the final stance with the new chassis,,,more photos uploaded to flicker.....will have the prototype ready soon Thanks for all the comments... I will start to take reservations for the kit (verbal,no money) to see if it will be a viable kit.................................will come 2 ways,,,complete kit and body only. more photos to follow.
DanielG Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Great job on this, Ken. It (almost) inspires me to get to work on the F88 project that I have been toying with.
customsrus Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Ken this is coming out great, keep up the good work, you are a master at this craft.
customsrus Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Great job on this, Ken. It (almost) inspires me to get to work on the F88 project that I have been toying with. If Kens picture did not inspire you to build the F88, maybe these will. I built this a few years ago. Ken I don't want to take away from your post, but I always like the early GM concepts so I hope you don't mind me posting these pictures.
kennb Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 That is just gorgeous,,,,,,,,,,,,,thank you for adding it ....it does follow how the thread has been going,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, tha cwetianly should be inspiation
kennb Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 I am working up the interior of the car now. I am making it so it is easy to assemble and using a few commercial parts to make it better looking. I narrowed a 58 Impala dash and am using the seats since they are close to period and look closer to what is used in the original. The side panels are scratch built to simulate the origionals closer. There is very little detail that I have to go by so some is a little creative. There will be some carpeting on them and lots of chrome The last picture shows my 57 Buick sitting on the same chassis. I will cast a chassis to use on the Buick and use some of the same interior components
kennb Posted September 23, 2013 Author Posted September 23, 2013 (edited) The interior is almost complete......the body is off to the caster.......................rest of the parts will go later. If you are looking to get the body only, with hood let me know. you can use a 57 vette to finish it with a lot of work or make your own,,,,,,the chassis kit and interior will be done later...maybe the first of Oct.......PM me for further details .........................getting there Edited September 23, 2013 by kennb
DanielG Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Thanks John and Ken. The F88 will probably be my next car project but it could still be a while getting started!
