beeRS Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 What a lovely build Peter! I love the colour - not too loud. Can't see any dust in the engine bay! That 'chrome before paint' technique on the scripts really works well. I have never tried it, but I'll have to give it a go now.
charlie8575 Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Nice work, Peter. That interior really does capture the "fawn" color quite well. What paint did you use for that? Charlie Larkin
Skydime Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Now that is a superb 62! The last thing I'd expect to see from a New Zealander living in Switzerland is an Arkansas Razorbacks license plate! new Zealander switZerland RaZorbacks...seems logical to me.
peekay Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 Thanks so much everybody.Charlie, after some experimentation I wound up airbrushing a mix of Zero acrylics with Alclad Chrome (!), one colour for the dash and another for the seats and walls. The walls needed a second, darker colour also, according to the only photos I could find and I did that with a Humbrol mix. I always mix my own colours, with varying degrees of success, but I have done it in the past professionally for the graphic industry and enjoy that aspect of painting.
MyBradKeselowski Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 Absolutely Flawless ! ! ! I like the color and your attention for detail..
rmvw guy Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Nice job, it makes me want to build another. Engine looks wonderful.
W-409 Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Very nice build of one of the finest looking cars of the '60s! The Engine Detail is very nice, and of course it is great to see a W-Block under the hood. Excellent paint work also and the look of this car is just perfect. Tires and all are just like 1:1 pieces. Incredible work.
surfjunke Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Awesome work, Peter! The detail paint & foil work is stunning! Beautiful finish as well.
ssroczyn Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Being a Razorback Fan myself, I must say that I like the build!! Very nice car, especially the License Plate!!! I'm working on a 64 myself. Anyway, I do have a question for you. Can you describe this "BMF before Paint" Method? Not sure I've heard of that but apparently it works pretty well based on the pics of your car! Nice Job! Steve

Check out Marcos Cruz' recent Opel in Under Glass. He describes the BMF before Paint technique - that's pretty much what I do. Edited September 19, 2013 by peekay
