NYLIBUD Posted Thursday at 04:42 AM Posted Thursday at 04:42 AM I had to send a bunch of paperwork to a title company following my car accident, which totaled my car.So the title company sends me a few forms that needed to be notarized, along with a large envelope and two FEDEX labels.I was told by the company to put the label of the title company in the clear plastic window in the envelope,Then I was told to put my return label somewhere on the envelope. So I put it on the front.Had everything signed and notarized, then dropped it off at a Fed ex drop box.Im thinking ok,they should receive the paperwork in the next day or so.Well today,I walk outside and sitting on my porch is the delivered envelope. In other words, despite following the instructions,,the morons at Fed ex delivered the sealed envelope to my house.Even though my return label said “sender”.So FedEx just assumed it was being shipped to me.I mean why would they ship it right back to me,and not the title company?🤬🤬😤Welp I called FedEx to see what happened.I was told I have to get another envelope, then to put my return label inside a new envelope, along with the paperwork. Then put the label to go to the title company on the outside of the new envelope.Luckily I made copies of the labels in case of any problems…I’ve come to the conclusion that Fed Ex SUCKS!!!!!!!! 1

Blame a failed "education" system that produces graduates with poor reading-comprehension and critical-thinking skills, and a culture that accepts constant distraction by "smart phone" rather than focus on the task at hand. If properly trained and implemented , AI should be good at reducing the frequency of this particular kind of problem, but it's disturbing we now feel the need to rely on machines to do something so simple correctly. 2
johnyrotten Posted Thursday at 02:28 PM Posted Thursday at 02:28 PM Twitchy spastic guy at work cut himself again. It's like centrum, one a day. Guys a walking advertisement for the red cross. So sick of filling out accident reports. 2

No lost time accidents meant "cleaning house"!

TonyK Posted Friday at 12:38 PM Posted Friday at 12:38 PM Less than 3 hours sleep last night. Happens every now and then for no reason. Wake up and lie there for an hour or so and then decide to get up because I ain't going back to sleep. One of the dogs even came up and cuddled against me which usually puts me back to sleep but it didn't work this time. Now I get to feel like BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH all day but I'll make it. 1 2
bobss396 Posted Friday at 01:32 PM Posted Friday at 01:32 PM This is my 1st time here. I'm generally happy and positive. Last night was our monthly model car club meeting. I get there 5 minutes early, the place is dark and everyone is standing outside. Usually the person from the county that opens and closes is there early or at 7 pm at the latest. Last night, nobody ever came. We stood around shooting the breeze, I left at 7:45. Somebody thought that they had the facility contact number in their phone, but they didn't. On the way home, I called my girlfriend and told her what happened. I think she was madder than everyone else combined. She is supportive of the hobby and knew I spent most of the day getting ready with my projects, food for the facility pantry, things I bring in for the other guys. 4

What you might want to do is put everything in an envelope and use the US Post Office instead.

johnyrotten Posted Friday at 10:54 PM Posted Friday at 10:54 PM FedEx claims my dogs food was delivered. It was not.

UPS did the same thing to me on an expensive parts order that my week's work depended on not too long ago. I had a devil of a time getting a replacement from the vendor, had to jump through hoops like providing photos of our shop front, address, etc., as the photo the driver-chimp sent on delivery wasn't anything like our place...and there's only the one street with the particular name in the entire city. Did I ever mention how effing tired I get having to do work other people got paid for...paid well, with benefits?

No photo and I'm more than sure they didn't feel like lifting a 60 pound box. Not knocking any delivery job as I'm sure it's strenuous at times, I'm almost positive it's a case of "situational laziness". There was one occasion where my wife's M.S. medication, which is perishable and shipped refrigerated, was left at the the street rather than the door as per the instructions. All because they didn't feel like driving up the driveway. My wife, myself as well as her physician absolutely ripped them a "new one". We've already checked with the two neighbors that occasionally get our mail. No dice. 2
meechum68 Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM This!! I did go and pick up an extractor for the busted off piece of brass, and a new bit of parts to get the new oil pressure switch installed. I figure after this new part, I will continue my Ground chasing journey as well. This is the last bit of electronic devices that are in the circuit for the fuel system that can be a fault for pump shut off. 2
Ace-Garageguy Posted yesterday at 04:56 AM Posted yesterday at 04:56 AM My neighbors must be drankin' agin'. Weekends have been pretty quiet in the immediate neighborhood for a while now, other than a little fracas last week or thereabouts. But it's now almost midnight and my walls are rattling with some music I find particularly annoying. Y'all listen to anything you want, but realize that everyone else on the street might not share your taste, and turn it down after 11PM...as per the local law. 3
stavanzer Posted yesterday at 05:01 AM Posted yesterday at 05:01 AM (edited) Got my Wife's Covered California, (Obama Care Ins) rate increase for 2026. $380.04, Per Month..... For those of you playing at home that is $4560 a year. Urk! Not a lot to you, mebbe, but a big chunk of my (reduced) budget. The plan is no better but the price jumped by a third. I cannot afford much more so-called "help" with my insurance premiums.... Edited yesterday at 05:03 AM by stavanzer Added more Info. 4
meechum68 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago So .... I got some handy dandy easy outs...well it broke ... now I have a busted easy out and a horrible shot at drilling it because of course being at the back of the block. And the tiny bit of drilling looks like it sealed it... so now trying to decide if the oil pressure sensor harness is long enough to reach down by the oil filer, do relocation of the switch, and hope the spot where the former was doesn't spray oil. Plus trying to decide if I just yank the engine, and get my other engine built in a rush (been trying to reach my buddy where the block and parts are so I can start assembling it.) Really had hoped for a simple solution yet.. it comes back to Chevrolet on my truck shoving the oil pressure switch in a bad location. 2

They are stupid hard and trash drill bits for fun. Was it one of the "twisted" ones, or a straight flute? The twisted ones can SOMETIMES be tapped out with a punch and hammer in reverse. Gently. I've vaporized them with an oxy/acetylene torch, but I us one for a living so you can say I've had practice. They make removal tools for tas, four pronged looking things. Ive had luck getting them out with them. A CARBIDE burr will cut them. Good luck with that situation Edited 22 hours ago by johnyrotten More information 2
meechum68 Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago It's the twisted one, and there isn't enough sticking out to get any sort of teeth on and of course not a lot of space at the back of the block and firewall. Gonna work on getting my 383 to my house from my buddies shop now that I have space in my "shop-shipping crate" to work on it. Fortunately, I have to pick up the rotating assembly, block, heads, and engine stand and the Forester is big enough to accomodate that.

They always break in the worst location, and those like to expand what your trying to remove cause of the taper. Since you've got another engine going in anyway, makes sense to deal with it outside the truck. And FYI, the same sensor is in almost the same spot on my 2012, and no easier to get at. Unless you've got pencil arms and an extra elbow. 1

Hopefully you won't have to deal with it, I am due to fuel pump always shutting down. 1

And the pickup o ring that sucks air. I certainly have been through your exact experience, grew up working on those trucks. Now I miss carburetors. 3
meechum68 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Yeah, and the 383 I am building is carburated. Because .. A-I know and understand them, and B- the only thing the computer will be doing is speedometer and such but nothing to do with ignition/fuel. One day in the future I will go to a Sniper kit, because I really like what they can do, and do not have the foibles my tbi has.

Little fella who "works on vintage cars" rents shop space from us in a building we've downsized out of installs Snipers on just about everything he can talk the car owners into (because he doesn't understand carbs...or much of anything else, including electricity and AN fittings, but that's another story). Somehow he manages to make them all run like dog doo, and they're forevermore in and out of his shop as frequently as if they were all running worn out carbs and points.
