Steve_L Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 These are pictures of my 2003 Thunderbird Custom. I used a Jimmy Flintstone resin body and a Revell Thunderbird Snap Kit to complete this curbside custom car. The interior is painted Testors red with a coat of matte clear. The exterior is painted with Krylon X-Metals red with polished Duplicolor clear. For the first time, I used Rustoleum Fine Textured black paint for the vinyl roof. I am pleased with the outcome. I made a vanity tag which signifies "Thunder Chicken". Big and little Pegasus Chrome T wheels and tires finished off the build. Enjoy!
Porscheman Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Gorges, I like the coupe look and great idea using the rust-oleum.
slusher Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Beautiful paint and model. Very nice touch on the wheels...
Speedfreak Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Thats the nicest paint job I've seen looking on this forum today! What kind of primer if any did you use?
Steve_L Posted October 5, 2013 Author Posted October 5, 2013 Thats the nicest paint job I've seen looking on this forum today! What kind of primer if any did you use? I used Duplicolor White Sandable Primer followed by the Krylon X-Metals Base, the X-Metals Red and then Duplicolor Clear, with mucho polishing.
Danno Posted October 5, 2013 Posted October 5, 2013 Color is great, finish is even better, and that vinyl top texture paint is perfect!! Thanks for sharing that product with us.
