No problem Pat! Thanks for the compliments!

"When I get the body I will have Mike Schnur take a look at this too. If you don't mind we might be able to create a buck to make some vacuum formed glass. The last time I talked to Mike he said he has the Fox Mustang glass perfected. "

That sounds fine to me Greg! I know when to admit I cant do something as well as others can.

Ken, I really enjoyed watching this build. You did a fantastic job and this car is truly an inspiration. I can't wait to see this car at 100% complete. You should be truly proud of yourself sir. Phenomenal job!

Thanks Jon! I am happy that you enjoyed watching this come to life. :) The big thing here is that I wanted to make it available for others to build.......if I can do it, why shouldn't I? That was my drive.....!

Great job. If someone told me, they were combining a 57 Chevy, Cobra, VW Bug, the last thing I would think was a Ferrari. Just amazing. My hat is off, to you, Sir.

Thanks Jeff! I just work with what's available out there.......then fill in the blanks afterward. ;)

I haven't seen this come up in this thread, but for those who want to plan ahead here are a bunch of good reference shots of the original 1952-53 1/1 plus a short article.

Here's more reference on the Gullwing America recreation:

EDIT: Ace found other info on the recreation in post #24.

I am glad you posted that info Skip.

I figured not everyone would want to build it like the Gullwing America version........that is why I did not cut out the taillights, exhaust holes, and the mini grilles below the headlights and on the rear........should be a fairly easy task to change it over to the original version.

This is some great reference information. Thank you, Skip for posting. I have this body. It is really nice for a project that started from scratch. Ken did a really nice job. I am going to create the hoods in clear resin.....well, that is the plan anyway. Then you can paint it if you want.

Hopefully, these bodies will be affordable. The only other kits 0f the original 340 Mexico in 1/24 were curbsides made by ABC Brianza (kit and built-up) and MG Model, which are impossible to find and cost hundreds of dollars.

I will make it affordable. I will get Mike Schnur involved in a glass vacuum formed set. He is having a pretty good time doing the glass for the Fox Mustang.
