Terry Sumner Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 I made this black walnut urn for my mom's ashes over the weekend. All the wood is from boards I had sawed up from a couple of big logs 2 years ago. I hope my dad will like it as a nice resting place for mom. I'm flying to Fla. on Monday next week and I'm bringing it down with me.... Hosted on Fotki

BluePopsicle Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 It looks great. I'm sure your dad will love it.
futurattraction Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 That is very, very nice, Terry. Tom already said what's the most important aspect of its construction...
JM485 Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Wow, that is an awesome thing to do. Like stated before, what matters is that you made it, not to mention it looks very well done also!
ScaleDale Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Very fitting use for such a great wood. Will your mother's ashes remain in Florida or will they be coming back with you? When my mother in law passed away in Mexico, my wife brought her ashes back to be scattered at her favorite fishing grounds. Customs was interested in what was in the box. This was pre 9-11, but they still had to look. Dale
slusher Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Terry, that is some beautiful wood work. I am sure your dad will be impressed an will be so glad to see you. You have each other to get through this time.
