This might help some: http://public.fotki.com/modeltrucks25thscale/model_magazine_articles/car_modeller/cm09_sept_1991_cate/

Here is a pic from a 1973 Ford L-Series brochure:

That's a 3208 under the hood of a LN8000.

What would be nice is if you could do the red & yellow labels for the valve covers (this is from a 1973 C-Series brochure):

I have an issue of Toy Trucker and Contractor from several years ago that has a review of one of the variations of this kit (the snowplow, IIRC). I'm pretty sure the article said the engine is a Ford V200.

Doesn't surprise me. The Ford V200 & V225 were built by Caterpillar for Ford. They were essentially blue Caterpillar 3208.

If you want to be really correct, the 3208 was not offered by Ford from the factory in the LNT8000. The 3208 was only offered in the LN8000. The LNT8000 had the 3208T.

I reread the box, the instructions and all I can see is a reference ta it being Cat powered. However, the fine print a.k.a painting instructions says blue or yellow, so either is feasible.
