YEPERS!! Just think of this cast in resin??

1/20th scale is pretty much the zombie zone for model cars, so it would really have to be a labor of love for someone to undertake that as a project. Maybe if they designed it to work with the 1/20 MPC Altered T and 'Vette Funny Car chassis.

I would build that in a heartbeat, the Opel GT is my favorite car. Mike, if you want to trade that away, pm me.

Mike, I see lights in the kit and the lamps cut out in the body... do tell. Will they operate up and down as well as work? I have a 1/25 Opel GT that I am placing the lights into the open position. And that's as far as I'm taking it.

The way I look at it, it would be a labor of love, however 1/20 isn't that far away from 1/18th and 1/18th is pretty close to 1/16th. :) Yeah, I know I'm stretching it a bit ( a lot?). For a pro-mod, gasser, etc. the car only has to be a reasonable facsimile ;)

I don't know if the lights rotate or not, I really don't like looking at it as I may be tempted to start it ( and finish it) :D

For about what I paid for the kit, You can get a really nice diecast in 1/18th from http://www.modelcarsales.eu/

Minichamps sell GT's in all colours..in 1/18 diecast which is very nicely detailed..

diecast is big in Europe...much bigger then building kits

Monogram Sizzler Dragster, reputed to be in the 1/20th scale range.

I believe this is the 1/25 kit that Tom was referring to...

There's a review topic for the recently reissued AMT 1/25 scale kit here: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=72221&hl=opel

For a Pro Mod, yes, but from what I recall and have seen, the Opels used in Gasser classes back in the day looked rather close to stock, with enlarged rear wheel arches:

S-W-C really enlarged the wheel arches on this one, but the rest of the body looks pretty close to the factory shape and contours:

I'm guessing the most difficult part would be finding one of these 1/20 scale kits, though. -_-

You got that right! Took me two years to find the 2 I have. :o

Interesting that the kit is molded in black, a color the GT was never offered in. As far as I know, the only black GT I've ever seen was one I owned in the early 70s, and I had it sprayed from it's original light yellow.
