Greg Myers Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 Looking at Ebay the prices seem very low. http://www.ebay.com/bhp/monogram-green-hornet
Brett Barrow Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) There was an SSP reissue about 10 years ago. Says "Monogram Classics" instead of "Four Star Plastikit" and there is more artwork visible across the bottom of the box. Edited November 18, 2013 by Brett Barrow
Nitro Neil Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 A 4-71 blower on an Olds engine. Did I get it right?
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Bing bing bing bing...I think we have a winner, folks !!
Brett Barrow Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 If you want to get really specific it's the engine from Hollywood Hot Rods' recreation of the "Grasshopper", the 1:1 car that inspired Monogram's Green Hornet. http://hollywoodhotrods.com/the-grasshopper-aka-the-green-hornet/
Nitro Neil Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Ah, that explains Greg's interest in the Green Hornet kit on eBay...
Greg Myers Posted November 18, 2013 Author Posted November 18, 2013 (edited) I knew I blew it when I posted the second thread. http://hollywoodhotrods.com/the-grasshopper-aka-the-green-hornet/ Edited November 18, 2013 by Greg Myers
Draggon Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 The reissue has 2 piece plastic tires. They are similar in size to the originals but not in appearance.
Tom Geiger Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Here's a few photos of a built model, done from the most recent release. I didn't build it, bought it this way at a show years ago! And above is test fitting of other bodies on the Green Hornet chassis. I bought a few of these to do some neat conversions.
Tom Geiger Posted November 19, 2013 Posted November 19, 2013 Gotta love the way that rear is just welded onto the chassis ends. That must be some heck of a ride!
