I did some google searching and found allot of irrelevant stuff, lol. I am looking for a set of wide white wall tires for a 34 Ford 5 window that I am building. Any suggestions? I don't want the tires with the press in white wall. I'd like the real deal that's painted on or screened.

Edit: I somehow just found some by AMT, are there any others I am missing?

Dante - the problem with most pad printed tires is the registration - seems like they are all a little off (well, not ALL, but a fiar amount). You can easily paint wide whites with acrylic paint, air brush, and a simple circle template (either tape the tire to the template or cut out a masking tape "mask").

Also, look at vinyl stickers or consider the snap in variety - both look failry convining and the snap in ones register true every time.

But, if your looking for the already done ones, the AMT tires are pretty good (if possible, look at before buying as some are off center or have another paint defect).

There is also an eBay seller that sells painted tires…I can post a link if I find it.

Eric. I just ordered a set of the AMT's . The auction showed a stock photo so I couldn't view the actual product. Hopefully they are straight or close to it. I was going to airbrush my own but the tires that I have are low profile.

Just wondering, what do you dislike about the press in whitewalls? Modelhaus does a set based on the tires from the Revell 32 Fors series, that are fantastic. The whitewalls pop out, and a thin layer of superglue in the recess and they will never come loose. I use about a hundred sets of these a year and have never had a problem.....

I use not exotic Imported Orential products . I fear for our Grandchildren's future and this is my choice . I use Acrylic Craft paints made in U.S.A. . Back in the day , we used Airplane Dope . also made in U.S.A. and still is in excellent shape . 30 Years + BTW . Thanx ..
