Fun_E_Car Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) This took me about 16 years to complete. I stared with a David Peters Corvette resin body and grafted in the blower tunnel and rear wheel wells from the Bud King Tempo. The rear deck I grafted in from a John Force Cutlass. I added a shovel nose and lowered the front wheel wells with styrene and puttied it all together. I scratch built the Wheelie bar, spill plates and the parachute mounts, plus added the wiring and plumbing. This was my brothers Fantasy Funny Car that he and I designed in the mid 80's and that I built it for him for his 40th birthday. On the back of the spoiler he wanted it to read, "The One Who Dies with the Most Toys...WINS!" Edited December 6, 2013 by Fun_E_Car
W-409 Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 (edited) I agree with Carl... Really nice build! When I saw the topic title 'Corvette Funny Car' I thought already that this will be something cool. And it was. Really great paint and detail work. Good job. Edit: Your two other Corvette Funny Cars are really nice as well! Edited December 6, 2013 by W-409
tubbs Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 very impressive run of funny cars so far Dave, welcome to the forum.
cobraman Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 You really got these F/C's down. Very nice !
Dragracer Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Panther looks top notch Dave, like the paint & body work.
Burnout Posted December 6, 2013 Posted December 6, 2013 Nice looking F/C. I especially like the custom graphics.
Fun_E_Car Posted December 7, 2013 Author Posted December 7, 2013 Thanks guys! I like to build 'em as they raced with the right stance and parts. I wish I had time to build more. I have my own fantasy car ready for paint. The chassis and engine parts are all painted but not built. I have the decals all drawn up. It has been sitting in a box for 6 six years along with my Whit Bazemore's Smokin Joes Mustang. The body is all painted and decaled, but like my car, the Chassis and engine need to be built. I hope to get some built during the next year at some point. Really enjoying Chris's Army/Snake Vega build. --Dave
