mnwildpunk Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I'm looking at buying the modelhaus 68 coronet and I was wondering if the separate chassis is a promo type or a full detail chassis? If not I figure the 70 bee would be a good donor
drodg Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I wouldn't think it would have an engine plate in the chassis as the body has a separate hood if I remember right. It is probably based on the MPC original kit and those chassis are pretty basic. I just finished the MPC 1968 Charger R/T kit and the chassis is pretty basic but it does sit correctly. You could email Don and he will get back to you on a question like that.
dimaxion Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 (edited) For my resin Modelhaus Cornet a simple soultion may I add . I use the Chassis from the "General" Charger kit . With over a Million Sold .. it is easy to find and buy . Thanx .. Edited December 18, 2013 by dimaxion
george 53 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 IF it's IS a DIRECT copy of the original MPC kit, YES, you can use the chassis from the AMT/ERTL 68/70 B-body chassis with no problem. You'll need to narrow the rear of the chassis, by the trunk edges a bit to fit the MPC body, but other than that, it drops in.
cooltoys1 Posted December 18, 2013 Posted December 18, 2013 I have a Modelhaus 68 Coronet right here in front of me. It is a direct re-pop of the 68 annual kit, and contains the same chassis that is used in the General Lee Charger kit. I am using the 70 Coronet chassis and doghouse, and highly suggest doing the same.
rickcaps55 Posted December 19, 2013 Posted December 19, 2013 :DHi I am with cooltoys1 I have the same kit and I also used the MPC/AMT 70 set up and the 68/69 GTX and Roadrunner all are the same but give great detale you will have to do a bit of trimming but it looks great. Good luck. Rick.
