Here is my build of Bill Elliott's Melling Ford Thunderbird. This was the car he drove when I first noticed him, before he was known as, "Awesome Bill from Dawsonville". The kit was an old one without a box or decals. The decals were old Slixx decals. They were in terrible shape and disintegrated once they hit the water, so some of these had to be re-done by yours truly. The "9" on the side of the car were a bit on the large side, but I can't print white, so I worked with it and made them fit.

NICE build Scott!! I started following Bill in 1976 when I saw him for the first time in the Carolina 500 at North Carolina Speedway in Rockingham, NC and followed him through his entire career. :)

I love this "squarebird" Scott! Folks like the Elliots and the Mellings stuck it out through the lean years and were rewarded when Ford restyled the T-bird in 1983 and blew away the rest of the field. Great model!
