John Goschke Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I don't know how you guys manage to get so many models done in one year! I worked on several projects, but managed to finish only one, this previously unbuilt original '59 kit. Inspired by a '58 painted in 1959 or so by the late great Larry Watson...
rmvw guy Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Your model is stunning and I remember seeing it when you posted it earlier this year. To take an old AMT kit and have it come out this nice is quite an accomplishment. I can finish more models because I am retired and not as detail oriented when finishing mine. You have a show winner and mine will just sit on the shelf and collect dust. Does that help? Your car is beautiful, thanks for giving us another look. Happy New Year
Guest Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 That is a beauty John!! Everything about it is just right! Someday, I want to attempt a paint job like this one and the T-Bird in your avatar. Excellent work!
Speedfreak Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 That is a thing of beauty that perhaps only another modeler could truely appreciate.
Nitro Neil Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 I still gasp everytime I see this one John. It's Wicked Pissa!
RatRod Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 One is better than none, and the one you did get finished is simply beautiful!!!
lower99 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 This car is stunning! Beautiful work! And the paint is awesome. I say: quality before quantity!
Dinky Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Very nice, the paint is cool and the foil looks great.
PappyD340 Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 OUTSTANDING!! obviously for you it's about quality and not quantity and that's OK, we're not all speedsters, job well done John, I like it!!
Dr Plastic Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 OMG! That is the epitome of the "silk purse from a sows ear" That is some stunning paint work! Bellissimo!
TooOld Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I also remember this one from when you first posted it . It was beautiful then and it looks even better now ! I'm going ti try a similar paint job soon and I'm using this as my inspiration . . . Thanks !
realgone58 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 That's a knockout! I love Watson stuff, and you did this one justice!
Joker Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Insert wolf whistle here_________ ! Can't wait to see what happens to the '36 Ford.
OldTimer50707 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Wow, wow, and more wows. That is fantastic.
Casey Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Your model is stunning and I remember seeing it when you posted it earlier this year. Same here. I would be perfectly happy to have that as my lone completion of a decade's time. Absolutely beautiful all around, both the model and the photography.
maltsr Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I agree with everyone else, simply stunning!
horsepower Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 That one puts you one up on me for the year, but I do have a lot of started ones.lol Beautiful job, makes one wonder what it would be like if you had used the Revell kit instead of the old AMT dinosaur.
doctor phillips Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I too join the stunned crowd! GREAT job, John!! Absolutely beautiful....!That box took me back, too. It's hard to believe that SMP/AMT once priced those at $1.49.
