Jantrix Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks very much guys. I'm real happy with it.
randx0 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 That is pretty cool, I like the concept and execution.
shucky Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Not sure how I missed this but very cool build! Love the colors and decals.
Jantrix Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 I'm glad you guys like it. The decals were the hardest part of the whole build.
Dr. Cranky Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Very nice model. I love the colors and the decals sure do make it pop.
Jantrix Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Thanks very much. Each decal was chosen and located for maximum contrast.
Jeremy Jon Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Great build Rob! very nicely done! The Mexican races, including the Panamericana, had tons of great cars, more than only Porsche's & Ferrari 212s
Speedpro Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 Ah yes, A big block chevy in a lark! Very nice. Love the livery.
Danno Posted April 20, 2014 Posted April 20, 2014 I believe I commented previously, but this model deserves an encore: Beautiful. Great concept, great execution. Love the Loewy Studes!
Jantrix Posted April 21, 2014 Author Posted April 21, 2014 Thanks very much. She was three years in the completion and will see her first competition on May 3rd. I'll let you guys know how it turns out.
mnwildpunk Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I had to revisit this build it is truly stunning imho
om617 Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 Really cool racer. Bet it haul some (cant say here) with that monster engine
Burnout Posted April 29, 2014 Posted April 29, 2014 I have no idea what the Carrera Panamericana is but that is one cool looking model! I especially like the work you did with the hood/scoop.
Jantrix Posted April 30, 2014 Author Posted April 30, 2014 Well the Carrera is a border to border rally race the length of Mexico, originally run from '50 to '54 but was cancelled after the death toll garnered too much bad publicity. No safety equipment back then. It was restarted in '88 and only cars of the original time period are allowed, but drivetrains break the cars into different classes. To date, the Leowy Studes are the winning-est cars on CP history. Check out the stats at the bottom of this Wiki page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carrera_Panamericana Thanks very much guys, I appreciate the ata-boys. The hood is one of my favorite parts too. It's crazy how "at home" the scope looks there.
