Gregg Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 When I use to race bikes, back in the '70s, my friend and mentor Chuck Teixeira was the best bike builder around. He went on to become an incredible engineer in the bicycle industry, and he and his son built a four-door Merc. So, check out the Goodguys' page, and see if you agree with me that this father and son build is the best on the page. They did everything themselves. https://www.good-guys.com/tb-voting Thanks guys. I know Chuck will appreciate it too. (in case you need a hint, it's the blue flamed Merc in the second row, #6 :-)) Gregg
JM485 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 That looks great! Just out of curiosity, what type of bikes did you race Gregg?
Gregg Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 That looks great! Just out of curiosity, what type of bikes did you race Gregg? da kine wit wheels.... 10spd or rather 17? Chuck would make his own frames. I got the leftovers....
Greg Cullinan Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Real, smeal. Can he do it in plastic! Awesome ride. Voted;) and not just because. Merc is legit.
Greg Cullinan Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 That looks great! Just out of curiosity, what type of bikes did you race Gregg? Did you catch SX Saturday? Crazy start to the season!
Brett Barrow Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Any relation to the Teixeira (Fred) that built this?
Guest Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Had to vote for Ron Zikes '30 Ford coupe. That thing is so cool!
JM485 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Oh ya! Mike winning the heat race was wild enough, not to mention his incredible holeshot, and then Kroc winning the main just set off the night! Shoot, even the 250s had some great action, with Anderson's last lap pass. I was really impressed with Reed though, he proved all the doubters wrong and pulled off a podium. For whatever reason I am unable to quote posts, so hopefully Greg Cullinan sees this.

And for a rookie to win the first race really puts this field into perspective. Best era to be a fan!
Skydime Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Voted....looks better than a lot of two doors I have seen. Heck, I had to look twice to make sure it was a four door!
JM485 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Absolutely, I don't think the racing has ever been better. Looking forward to attending the Oakland round, should be a heck of a show! Sorry, still can't quote posts.
