Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 8, 2014 Posted January 8, 2014 Built this Edsel a while ago. It only took me about an afternoon to finish. It's a prepainted model, and the paint is not bad, but you have to be lucky with the paint quality, not all are this nice. I only replaced the tires as I didn't like the ones on the kit, foiled the chrome trim that was painted silver, wired the engine, and added a tow ball. 1958 Edsel pacer Prepaint par Túlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity 1958 Edsel pacer Prepaint par Túlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity 1958 Edsel pacer Prepaint par Túlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity Towing Job par Túlio Lazzaroni Lovefordgalaxie, on ipernity
Mike 1017 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks Good. I really like the color combo. That little bit of white interior and the wide whites really add to the look. Do you think that 1:1 would have white valve covers and a while air cleaner? Mike
62rebel Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 the answer to that is a click away, and yes, that was a color combo used on Edsel engines.
slusher Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks great Tu'lio, nice touch on the foil. What did you wax it with? Great shine..
the goon Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Very nice. The Edsel in the background needs a little work though Mark
am73grand Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Nice job!! Those pre-painted kits are a lot of fun to build.
Brett Barrow Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks great! I just bought one of these on the bay... Hope the paint is decent. Probably end up doing what you did, foil and paint detailing.
Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 Thanks guys!! This one is mine fourth Edsel. 5th if you consider a Dambury Mint Edsel Bermuda. On the paint job, a bit of luck is indeed necessary. I have another, unbuilt in the box, and that one has a big piece of dust embedded on the paint of the roof. Another drawback would be the mold lines that are showing, but the kit looks good when done.
realgone58 Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Looks fantastic with the foil done! I lucked out on a Chrysler 300 pre-painted with good paint.
ChrisBcritter Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Nice clean job, Tulio! What tires did you use to replace the kit ones?
Lovefordgalaxie Posted January 10, 2014 Author Posted January 10, 2014 Nice clean job, Tulio! What tires did you use to replace the kit ones? Thanks!! I used Revell/Monogram tires with separate whitewalls. If I remember well they came from a incomplete 1959 Chevy Impala kit.
