o-man Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 (edited) Thanks to member Matt Bacon for the inspiration to get this done. Used the AMT Rides snap together version. Didn't do a work in progress since Matt did his and his looks better than mine. Will show a few things that can't be seen with body on. First the interior. Took historic liberty with the seats. All the pictures I found don't have silver inserts. The drivetrain/ engine combo. Painted valve covers light blue. The real car I attempted to duplicate. Used Duplicolor Toyota Stellar Blue With a few coats of Krylon clear. A few mounting points had to be opened, but for a "snap" kit it is pretty nice. Thanks for looking. JM485 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Wow, I would never have though that was a snap kit after seeing it all together. Nice job!
Matt Bacon Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Nice one, Oscar! Cool colour -- and it's nice to see that somewhere in the world, the sun is out! One question -- my decal sheet had a separate Ford logo, distinct from the one on the racing stripes, so you should probably have something to fill the oval, somewhere... is it AWOL? One suggestion -- looking at the overhead picture, I think you'd benefit from "low-lighting" the panel lines. Citadel (Games Workshop) do an ace very dark blue wash if you have a stockist locally... bestest, M.
o-man Posted January 15, 2014 Author Posted January 15, 2014 I found decal sheet and added Ford badge and took a few more pics with a lighter surround.
