Bobdude Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 (edited) He lost his battle with cancer. RIP Edited January 22, 2014 by Bobdude
southpier Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I'm assuming you meant the fellow from Revell-Monogram diecast models?
Chuck Most Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 He'll be missed- he was the guy behind projects like the fanatsic Pro Modeler '40 Ford kit. Cancer is one disease I'd love to see eradicated already, myself...
slusher Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Cancer has taken so many nice people out of this world. I agree Chuck I would love to see it eradicated myself....
Chuck Kourouklis Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Well my day is ruined. Deeply, deeply bummed to see this.
Brett Barrow Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 That's sad news. Here's Roger hard at work on patterns for Monogram's 36 Ford from a 1962 (that's right, 1962) Car Craft Magazine article on how model kits are made. (middle right pic)
Danno Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Sad news indeed. A true friend ... and champion ... of the hobby.
Eshaver Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 Thank you for sharing this information . My condolences to his family ...................
kitswapper Posted January 25, 2014 Posted January 25, 2014 (edited) Roger Harney who was the Senior Vice President of tooling & manufacturing for Revell/Monogram Models passed away from complications from prostate cancer surgery yesterday, he was a great guy and we have a lot to thank him for, both he and Ed Sexton were the driving force behind the resurgence of Revell the last few years with all the new tooling you have been enjoying. May you rest in peace Roger. Edited January 25, 2014 by kitswapper
