Mrdarkmonkey96 Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 Warped the body in the dehydrator...too much heat I guess... wierd how its just one side..... Do you think I can save it, and how? Will reheating pop it back, will it crack the paint etc...I've pretty much got it perfect and ready for clear and now it warped....
disabled modeler Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 The only way I can use ones like that is for ether parts or you could use it for a diorama type build so it has use still....otherwise your going to need another body...sorry.
ChrisBcritter Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Best you can hope to do is heat it again to flatten it somewhat and make it look like crash damage, or chalk it up to experience and use it as the base for an aftermarket body conversion (luckily you have many choices nowadays). DO take note of where it was in the dehydrator - maybe you have a "hot spot" in there. Edited January 27, 2014 by ChrisBcritter
Lunajammer Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 (edited) Yup, time to add a few more dents, weather it and make it a beater. Might also be able to purchase a body only from Revell. Edited January 27, 2014 by Lunajammer
cobraman Posted January 27, 2014 Posted January 27, 2014 What a shame. As others have said it's a candidate for a diorama with a beat up and weathered auto.
Mrdarkmonkey96 Posted January 28, 2014 Author Posted January 28, 2014 Well not what I wanted to hear.... I spent a lot of time on that paint... dang. Thanks anyways though guys.
JohnU Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 That's why I don't use a dehydrator! A 60 watt light bulb in a wooden box with a thermometer I built just for drying. Get up to 96 degrees and that's it.
