Ok... if you look at the previous photo and this one, you can figure out how the spare tire racks work. The outer arms (the ones away from the car) are hinged to open and accept the spare. Then those arms are swung closed, and the belts hold the brackets closed. Yes, the bracket arms are really hinged, and yes, the paper "belts" were actually threaded through the loops and buckles just like the real thing would be. But it wasn't easy... and once I got everything closed up without breaking any of those tiny, tiny parts, there's no way I'm ever opening up those brackets again!

BTW... I pirated the spare from an Entex Model T delivery van. It carries two spares, both on the same side, so I figured it'll still look ok with just the one. The spare is molded smooth... it represents a tire with a cover on it, which works out perfectly. No need to worry about the spare matching the rest of the tires!

Pretty much all that's left now are the running board step plates and painting the hood.

What-no air in the tires? oil in crankcase? stuffing in seats??

You are getting to be a SLACKER...

The only other things I can think of are the cap and badge for the radiator.

Well, yeah, there's that, too... :D

I cut corners wherever I can... :P

But actually... there is stuffing in the seats! Well, foam padding. Yep, really!

Yeah-I forgot your patented Barcalounger chairs......

Speaking of Barcalounger chairs... not to hijack my own thread, but here are my scratchbuilt seats for my Sedanca (assuming I ever get back to that kit... )...

Seats use parts of the kit seat shells. All upholstery is scratchbuilt. Real foam padding, upholstered with a faux-leather that I found at Hobby Lobby and looks exactly like 1/8 scale leather. The piping is also something I found at HL in the jewelry making aisle... it's actually a very soft and flexible rubber "string" that's for stringing beads on. It makes perfect 1/8 scale seat upholstery piping. All wood trim is real wood (basswood stained and varnished), the "carpeting" trim on the backs of the front seat is yet another fabric I found at HL that looks exactly like 1/8 scale carpeting. I also used it to carpet the interior of the Rolls.

Man, I really need to get back to work on this kit...

I painted the seats a medium gray using acrylic craft paint. They have a soft semi-gloss that makes for a very convincing in-scale leather look. I still need to carve the wooden armrests for the rear seat.

Halleluya!!!!! I finally got your Pocher motor runnin'!

Your right-don't disrupt Skip's project with 1/8 scale. Put this post in my Sedanca thread-this way any interested parties will have all Pocher Rolls info in one place. Makes sense, right Har??

Your seats are off the charts and I have a lot to say and ask-please relocate this...

What do you make of this?

that would be the badge for the Stutz Bearcat from the 1970's-didnt it look like a xxxxed out Montecarlo?

Come on Harry you know its just plain wrong to post pictures of 1-1 seats and say you made them. Well that's what it looks like to me

Im not a big fan of these cars but the ones you do are pretty darn cool

Not to change the subject, I agree the seats look 1:1..............what about the Windscreen, any thoughts on this, pro or con!

Look everyday w/baited breath to see if you have posted another photo of this master piece. By the way, I for one can not wait to see what you do w/the ITC kit. :) I made a comment on the "Ole 16" about letting it slip through my fingers, honestly, you are a much better detail man than I am and I wanted to see if you did win, just what you would do w/this really Big basic kit

I'm leaning towards no windscreen.

Yes, I won the ITC kit. According to tracking it should be here tomorrow.

Gentlemen... I need a favor.

I am currently without a working color printer. Would one of you be able to print out a Stutz radiator badge for me? Doesn't need to be a decal, printed on plain paper is just fine. I would supply the artwork and my mailing address.
