my74cadillac Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) Hi im doing the Revell 68 DODGE DART HEMI. I want to do the car as a drag car. So first i cut the spare tire and gas tank out. Edited March 15, 2014 by my74cadillac
FASTBACK340 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Wow… more Mopar's going together. And an A body with a Hemi no less. You have my attention, build on.
my74cadillac Posted February 8, 2014 Author Posted February 8, 2014 (edited) I was looking at the parts bin and found a fuel cell so that will be in the trunk as well as the battery and a nos tank that i am making this is what the trunk will look like before the lines and cables i have also shaved off all emblems and the spot ware the wipers go as well as opening the trunk. on the hood scoop one of the dividers on the sides weren't long as the middle one so i cut it off i also opened the wheel wells Edited February 8, 2014 by my74cadillac
ratdoggy Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I was wondering since my dad had a '68 Dart (not Hemi of course) is there a slant six engine out there someplace? Dad had a stripped down one and I remember going to the dealer with him to look for a car and I of course wanted him to get something with stripes and chrome wheels but since I was 8 my vote didn't count
FASTBACK340 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 The Lindberg `64 Plymouth Fury has a real nice slant six. If your serious, send me your mailing address and I'll ship you the parts to build one. I have a few extras laying in the parts bucket.
oldscool Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Great looking Dart so far. Don't see many yellow ones.
BBossman1 Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Sweet! I will follow along as i build my dart.

ratdoggy Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 I'll try and pick up the model today. maybe my wife didn't count how many I have to build yet. But if she does I'll have to start counting her shoes.
my74cadillac Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 i know you cant see it that well but i ran the throttle cables. still need to do the gas lines. also ran the brake lines into the master cylinder. i also took off the arm rests on the door panels and put a chrome tape on the panels then sanded them a little to look like brushed aluminium. i was going to do a two tone yellow and orange paint but it kept cracking so i painted it intense blue pearl.
my74cadillac Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 some photos of the motor with the fuel line homemade T fitting and fuel filters the rear axle with homemade rotors and caliper with brake lines as well as the body after bare metal foil, just a mock up of the stance.
Dragfreak Posted February 23, 2014 Posted February 23, 2014 Do you plan on running the nitrous lines, a coupe fuel regulators, and the solenoids since you're scratching the bottle?
my74cadillac Posted February 23, 2014 Author Posted February 23, 2014 ya i think i will use the nitrous set up and make fuel regulators and solenoids
slusher Posted February 24, 2014 Posted February 24, 2014 Beautiful paint and color. Engine looks great...
6bblbird Posted February 25, 2014 Posted February 25, 2014 I was liking the yellow but the blue looks real nice. Word of advice: Ditch the power brake booster. Real race cars don't have them. Not enough engine vacuum to make them work and on a real Dart you would never be able to remove the valve cover. WF
my74cadillac Posted March 15, 2014 Author Posted March 15, 2014 finished the engine interior is finished scratch built the tack wired the starter when i did a test fit with everything i saw that the cut lines that they want you to use for the rear wheel wells were to big so i cut it off the frame and made my own
