I use Dr. Pepper plastic bottles with double-sided tape on the cap to hold my bodies for spraying. I add a few stones to add stability.

That's a great one!  I've done that too!

In fact, this whole thread is great!  I'd love to hear more if anyone has any.

I quite like using paperclips for things - theyre great for pinning parts together, making small metal brackets or lines - tonnes of possibilities!

Here's one I recently used on my 77 AMC Matador.

 

To simulate the rubber impact strips, I built up three layers of electrical tape and cut it into strips of the proper length.

 

I used a thin line of CA in the groove to help hold the tape in place. I think it worked rather well.
