lanesteele240
Next up is making the intake tubes This was a fail fail fail event I started with 5/32 aluminum tube and a tube bender. It did not go well Fail More fail Close but u can see it is mashed on the inside in person I then had an idea to temper the tube More fail as i tempered it toooooo much And finnally a win or two Edited March 15, 2014 by lanesteele240
Teddy J. Tannehill
One of my pals was using tubing to make an exhaust system, he put a smaller diameter wire inside the tube when bending it this kept it from collapsing. I think he said he used copper for the wire inside the tube. I like you work what you have done looks really good.
lanesteele240
Thanks teddey. I will try it but there is a limit to how small the radious is on the bender. I saw some other dude on another forum use milliput. So i cut off a sharpy on both ends and extruded some after packing it in. Here is the result. After it cures i will sand file and prime it. If it looks good i will go with it

lanesteele240
I got around to finishing the intake tubes I had to repaint the interior. It turns out it is sliver instead of black. While i was at it i scratched a console and made the shifter more like it should be. To match my first build i have go get some racing white. I some how picked up bright white. That is going to be a small hold up since my lhs is a long trip. Well i have to finish the under carrage and assemble the chassis and figure out what im going to do about the side glasses. ? that is going to take some head scratching Edited March 20, 2014 by lanesteele240

vwdave92
wow this looks amazing. The embossing powder on the seat blew me away. It looks like alcantera that is so popular now. Does it go down like flocking? How durable is it? I may have to try this...

Kennyboy showed me how good it looked in one of his builds. I just followed his advice. I spraid down black paint real wet. Sprinkled on the powder and applied more where needed. I then spraied down a topcoat of black then a final coat of dull coat. None of them have even thought of falling off

lanesteele240
Great job on the seat and the build in general so far Gary! Thanks kb I miss looked at where the net part of the window net was. So i remade both the inner and outer nets. I cut a section of seat belt decal off of set to mimic the stitching. A few trinkets for the engines Thanks for watching

lingham
That decal work on the grill is seriously amazing. so much detail in such a small amount of space. 10/
Toast
What a cool car! There's so much happening in those decals alone. Add to it all the details you're adding and this should be a very fun piece to look at when you're done. Good work, I'm excited to see more.
