Here is a simple tip I used for some time now on making my own toggle switches for race cars or other.

*I start out with either using tiny solder or Evergreen plastic round tubing.

*Pick a size that looks close to scale you need and then taking a pair of tweezers or small pair of needle nose pliers, just pinch the end of the solder or plastic and then trim off and you have a real kewl looking toggle switch....Not a flat photo etched switch that does not look that great!

Thanks,

I haven't done a toggle switch in ages, but another cool trick is to drill out a hole where the switch would go with a dremel and tiny bit.. then use small styrene rod and glue it into the hole.

I did a dash for a Jaguar XJR-9lm Le Mans car years ago using that technique and it turned out pretty cool.. which reminds me, i gotta get back to that build, it's been in a box for a decade now.

That is a neat idea as I tried that years ago.........the trick however is keeping everything symmetrical! :o

Here's and old build where I did this on a Ferrari 250GT SWB........I might make them a scooch smaller if I were doing this today.
