Model Brain Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 (edited) Hey gang, I am in the works building a strange one, The Mad van, More details will come soon. http://s24.photobucket.com/user/jonjon75/slideshow/Models Edited February 3, 2015 by Model Brain
slusher Posted March 16, 2014 Posted March 16, 2014 Real nice work on that frame, it will be unique...
charlie8575 Posted March 17, 2014 Posted March 17, 2014 Interesting idea; stretching the semi-unit body on those vans would've been an exercise in hair-pulling; actually, come to to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a stretch van like this. Not a bad idea for something of a super luxury limo type thing... I agree with Carl, nice job on the frame and the rest of it. I'll be interested to see how it all works out. Charlie Larkin

Model Brain Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Thanks everybody! I think I'm happy with this frame. Ride hight is looking better.
disabled modeler Posted April 22, 2014 Posted April 22, 2014 Looking good... My problem is Id want to open up the doors to show off a custom or camper interior...the hinges would be a nightmare for me.
Model Brain Posted April 22, 2014 Author Posted April 22, 2014 Yeah I'd also like the option, I know there is a vintage kit out there where all the doors open. **looking for photos**
BirdWatcher Posted April 24, 2014 Posted April 24, 2014 Great progress! I've yet to use photo etched hinges myself, but I think I'll have to cave and try something. Check out ebay. search for "van doors" in "toys & hobbies" > "Model kits".

kilrathy10 Posted May 30, 2014 Posted May 30, 2014 Great idea and work on this one.....Totally, gives me one for a few Ford vans I picked up from Hobby Lobby a few months back, real cheap.....Didn't know what I was going to do with all of them, and this could knock a few of them off the shelf.....Great idea and execution.....
Model Brain Posted May 30, 2014 Author Posted May 30, 2014 liking your extended van! me being me, i would have a mild lift & up on some 35's are any of your van roofs removable? on a couple of mine instead of gluing them down, i pegged them so they sit tight but still come off You know I actually have one rooftop, but the van was missing, It would be fun to do interiors. I'm filling this van with little monkey's.
