alangarber Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Took almost 2 weeks, but got the 2nd part done. More work than expected. The old decals gave me some trouble.
tbill Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 Alan, superb looking pair! fantastic job, they just look so cool together now, do us all a favor and take a few steps back and photograph the whole shelf, I spy a great looking fleet of stuff

kilrathy10 Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Very nice work, Man....Good work on the old decals.....Amazing how frustrating it can be when you get to that part of an old kit.....Good work....
alangarber Posted March 24, 2014 Author Posted March 24, 2014 Thanks they were a bugger. The other two will come shortly and then another part if I can locate a rear deck
tbill Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Alan, have you tried using testors decal bonder on the decals before using them? seems I read on here somewhere that it may help to keep them from cracking/coming apart when putting them in water to apply them. haven't tried it myself, but thought I'd mention it.
phoneguy Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Microscale liquid decal film works great on the old decals

Actually I sprayed them with clearcoat, waited a few days and sprayed them again with a good coat. The other options mentioned they don't have here. The clearcoating worked fairly well but still had some breaking. After they were applied and dried I coated them again.
Pavel A. Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Great work. My favourite trucks combo...... I hope that in the left corner up there are Hide Out and Bandag Bandit...right?

Jim Whalen Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 (edited) Hi, Nice build - it looks sharp when its all put together as nicely as yours is. Great collection! Edited March 25, 2014 by Jim Whalen
Old Buckaroo Posted March 29, 2014 Posted March 29, 2014 That is a Great looking combo. You really did a fine job on them (the other trucks displayed are fantastic also) Very Impressive display. Now you need Old Blue, Boss Truck, Mama Truck ..... ....... ... I got pretty good at saving old decals building aircraft models. Nothing as large scale as yours though , but a clear coat can save the day.

Boss and Mama is next if I can locate the KW and extra sleeper
