OK, can someone help me out. I sprayed a body with what I thought was the correct color, but it turns out it was too light. Can I spray a slightly darker lacquer color over the original layer of lacquer? Using different brands of paint? I would be using Testor's over Black Gold. Any input appreciated.

Do a test before spraying the body. Use a plastic spoon and spray you first color and then the second when dry. However it may be best to strip and start over to avoid problems and paint build up. Good luck.

I've mixed Testors, Black Gold, Tamiya, Dupli-Color,and MCW lacquer paints with no problems. Many guys use plastic spoons to test primers, paints, and colors with great results. I don't, I just paint by the "seat of my pants" and usually get the results I'm lookin' for. Do whatever works.

Having been bit by "Hot Lacquer" once or twice I would say test before spraying it on any project. Cheap insurance.
