Hallo all

As I was thinking about a new projekt an Ford LS 9000 singel axel tracror I started looking for any information and pics I could get. I was thinkig about useing an detroit diesel 8v 71 for that truck. Realistic combination? I got the information that the 9000 serie used a drop frame but I did not found any referece on this. If someone of you has some pics or knows more about a truck like this please tell me more about it. Thanks for your efforts.

There is one guy with a Detroit 8V71 Ford L on Youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5IvPgru12c

This guy loves his old Ford! The Detroit sound awesome, as it should...

As for your build, it's not the same hood length as on the AMT kit, it's a little longer. So you might want to do a little research for a hood that will allow you to fit that big V8. I know a correct resin hood exists that is similar to the one in the video, but don't remember who makes it. You could probably use an LTL hood from P&P resin (available!) But I'm not absolutely sure the LTL used the 8V71 for motivation though.

do you know Danial? Or better said do have a e-mail adress so that I can contact him?

I want to try to rework the AMT hood with the front part from Italeri`s Ford Aeromax. I do not know if it works because I do not have jet find a donor hood from Italeri. But the idea with a ready resin hood sounds grate.

As for the engine I looked in to some leaflets and the DD was not availebel in the LS serie.

I expect the two kits would not match up well. I was hoping to use the AMT Louisville with the Italeri LTL to make a daycab LTL. There was probably a 3/16" gap where the hood would meet the cab.

Plaskit's LS / LTS hood is very nice as is everything I have bought from him.
